Arka Initiative case study
Challenge

A Mission Without Clarity

Arka is an organisation working to advance practical education on sexual and reproductive health. They came to us with two distinct briefs: a set of illustrations for their Sex-Ed manual, and a rethinking of their digital presence. The manual was designed for late teens and young adults, but also intended as a resource for parents guiding their children — the illustrations needed to work for both audiences at once. The website, meanwhile, was visually disjointed and struggling to communicate Arka's mission with any clarity or conviction.

Approach

Approachable, Never Alienating

For the manual, we created nearly 80 illustrations, striking a deliberate balance between approachability and informative detail. The visual style was warm and accessible without trivialising the subject matter, ensuring both the young adult reader and the parent could engage with the content comfortably.

The Work

A Site Built On Its Own Initiative

The website redesign was something we initiated ourselves, inspired by the importance of Arka's work. We reimagined the site around a linear storytelling structure that led visitors through Arka's core mission, and integrated AI functionality to create a more personalised and engaging experience.

Outcome

From Confusing To Compelling

The illustration project delivered a complete visual system for the Sex-Ed manual, covering the full scope of the content for a dual audience without compromise. The website redesign showed how a clearer structure and sharper visual identity could transform Arka's digital presence from confusing to compelling.
