Challenge
Alpha Industries faced a classic challenge of brand evolution—how to expand market perception beyond a singular, deeply entrenched identity. After six decades of building their reputation around security solutions and safes, the brand had achieved strong recognition in that category but found themselves typecast in a way that limited growth opportunities. Their expertise in interior design, commercial fitouts, and ergonomic office furniture remained largely invisible to potential clients who saw Alpha exclusively as a security company.
This narrow perception was preventing Alpha from capitalizing on significant revenue opportunities in adjacent markets where their design capabilities and craftsmanship could command premium positioning. The challenge was repositioning a well-established brand without alienating their loyal security-focused customer base while opening doors to new market segments that didn't currently associate Alpha with their broader service offerings.
Approach
We began with comprehensive research to understand both Alpha's current brand equity and the market opportunities they were missing. Through stakeholder interviews, customer research, and competitive analysis, we mapped the gap between Alpha's actual capabilities and market perception. Our research revealed that while their security expertise remained valuable, their design and fitout work represented untapped potential for growth and differentiation.
We analyzed how other heritage brands had successfully evolved their positioning while maintaining core brand strength. Our strategy development process involved identifying the connective tissue between Alpha's various offerings—their commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and understanding of how spaces function—that could serve as the foundation for a more comprehensive brand narrative.

We developed a comprehensive brand refresh strategy that repositioned Alpha as a complete space solutions provider while honoring their security heritage. The new brand narrative celebrated their six decades of experience as the foundation for broader expertise in creating functional, secure, and beautifully designed commercial environments.
Our proposed refresh emphasized Alpha's unique position as a company that understands both the aesthetic and functional requirements of modern workspaces. We crafted messaging that positioned their security background as an asset in office design—who better to design a workspace than a company that truly understands how spaces are used and secured?
The phased rollout strategy we developed for the latter half of 2025 allows Alpha to systematically introduce their expanded positioning across touchpoints, ensuring consistent implementation while minimizing disruption to existing operations. This approach enables them to test and refine messaging with different audience segments while building momentum toward their broader market goals.
Impact
The brand refresh strategy provides Alpha with a roadmap to unlock significant growth opportunities that were previously inaccessible due to narrow market perception. By repositioning themselves as comprehensive space solution providers, they can now compete for lucrative commercial fitout and office furniture projects while maintaining their leadership position in security solutions. The phased implementation approach reduces risk while building toward a more diverse, sustainable business model that leverages all of Alpha's capabilities rather than limiting them to a single category.
